Welcome to Joshua, TX! Located in Johnson County, Joshua is a home rule municipality located in the heart of Johnson County along Highway 174. Joshua has a population of just over 8,000 citizens and operates under the Council-Manager form of local government. The City Council is elected by the voters to serve as the City’s Board of Directors and establish the policies of the City.

Conveniently located along Highway 174 at FM 917, between Cleburne and Burleson, the City of Joshua is a close-knit, charming community with a warm and inviting hometown feel and an exceptional school district. Residents enjoy annual celebrations such as the Independence Day Celebration, Fall Festival, and the Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Community amenities include City Park featuring a splash pad, athletic facilities, playground, walking trail, and, and fishing pond; Joshua Station, a mixed-use development currently under development; and, the newly opened Joshua Community YMCA.

Joshua offers families a quiet and serene quality of life but is just a short distance away from the conveniences that the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex has to offer such as music and theater performances, museums, symphony and ballet performances, a zoo, and botanical gardens.

Public education in Joshua is provided by the Joshua Independent School District [JISD] which covers 76.68 square miles and consists of eight campuses.
