Welcome to Decatur, TX! Located in Wise County, Decatur is northwest of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex about 25 miles north-northwest of Fort Worth and 45 miles northwest of Dallas. Decatur has become a great destination for all walks of life that takes pride in being a friendly “down-home” city.

Bustling with energy, Decatur’s population continues to steadily increase year after year due to the increase of businesses settling there.  Downtown Decatur (the city square) is vibrant with shops, eateries, and is the center of operations for the county and city.

Although Decatur is a small city, it offers all of the amenities of a larger city.  With 6 parks, a regional hospital, tons of shopping, restaurants, a large library….the list goes on.  If Decatur doesn’t have it, not to worry!  Fort Worth, Grapevine, Keller, and Denton are within 45 minutes or less.

The City of Decatur is served by the Decatur Independent School District [DISD], the largest district in Wise County. Decatur ISD is centered in Decatur and has six campuses: Decatur High School, McCarroll Middle School, Carson Elementary School, Rann Elementary School, and Young Elementary. During the 2010–2011 school year, Decatur ISD had 3,011 students enrolled.
